CertBara – exam system for arborist certifications

CertBara helps certification centres prepare and run arborist certification exams and process their results – from the candidate roster and the assessment in the field to the final documents.

What the system is for

An arborist certification exam has a written part, practical tasks in the field, tree identification and, at higher levels, a professional report. CertBara brings these parts together in one place: examiners assess directly on a tablet, answers from paper tests are read from scans, recordings and photos are stored safely with the exam, and the centre sees the progress and results of all candidates.

The system supports these certifications:

The system adds up the points according to the rules of each certification. The result of the exam is decided by the examiners and the certification body, not by an automated process; CertBara does not issue certificates.

Who works with the system

Certification body

Manages certifications, exam packages, question banks and exam dates.

Exam centre

Keeps the roster of candidates and examiners, prepares the exam site, opens and closes the exam and produces the result documents.

Examiners and assessors

Assess the practical parts on a tablet, take recordings and photos and check the written parts.

Candidates

Complete the written parts on paper or on a tablet, as the certification rules require, and hand in professional reports.

The system also includes the CertBara Companion app for iPad. It opens the CertBara workspaces with a QR code from the centre, stores recordings, photos and videos reliably and helps prepare the exam site in the field.
